Experienced Houston Attorneys With a Unique Perspective

Attorney Devon Anderson earned her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1991. After working as a criminal defense attorney in Austin, she accepted a position with the Harris County District Attorney's Office where she spent the next 12 years as a prosecutor. During her time there, she handled over 100 jury trials including seven capital murder trials. She was the lead prosecutor in the trial of Angel Maturino Resendiz, the notorious "Railcar Killer."

In 2005, attorney Anderson was elected judge of the 177th Criminal District Court where she presided over countless cases involving many criminal offenses including white collar crime, DUI/DWI, assault, drugs and others. In 2007, she became the presiding judge for STAR IV (Success Through Addiction Recovery) Felony Drug Court which helps people caught up in the criminal justice system due to substance abuse addictions. She volunteered her time in this capacity and personally supervised the recovery of offenders.

Attorney Brock Thomas is an eighth generation Texan and has lived in Harris County his entire life. He earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1993. He worked for nine years as a prosecutor in the Harris County District Attorney's Office where he prosecuted all levels of criminal offenses; everything from misdemeanor offenses to capital murder. He also served a stint in the Public Integrity Unit where he investigated and prosecuted wrongdoing by public officials while they were serving in their official capacity. During his career as a prosecutor, he participated in over 100 jury trials.

In 2002, attorney Thomas was appointed judge of the 338th Criminal District Court. During his time on the bench, Thomas presided over literally thousands of felony criminal cases, including drug cases, intoxication assault cases, intoxication manslaughter cases, white collar crimes, thefts, robberies, aggravated assaults, murders, capital murders, and just about every other type of felony case imaginable.

In addition to those duties, Thomas also volunteered his time to preside over the STAR II Felony Drug Court; one of Harris County's innovative and highly effective drug rehabilitation courts. Throughout his career as a judge, he was recognized for his outstanding service by numerous organizations including being named "Best Criminal Court Judge" by the Houston Press in 2005.
